Just a short trip from Casa Fidal, Sagres hosts the country’s biggest Birdwatching Festival — a four-day celebration of nature and migration. With over 160 activities, you can dive into guided field trips, boat tours, bird ringing, environmental workshops, and more. Families, solo travelers, and experts alike will find adventures suited for them.
The festival highlights the Northern Gannet, a spectacular seabird that can be seen by the hundreds soaring from Cabo de São Vicente. Many activities are free or discounted, with special offers at local accommodations, restaurants, and shops.

The Hoopoe
The funky bird in our logo is the hoopoe. Since it was one of the first birds that caught our attention when we arrived in the Algarve, and it is one of Alex´favorite birds, the choice for this lively creature for our logo came up quickly.
We like the hoopoe for its combination of elegance and quirkiness.
